In 1954 Rose married her loving husband Freddie Luchterhand. She worked at Pixley’s Supermarket in the Meat Department for many years. Rose attended St. Teresa’s R.C. Church in Akron and was a member of VFW Post #3180 Ladies Auxiliary also in Akron. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to casinos and traveling.Family: Rose was the daughter of the late Janko and Mary (Rozmarich) Kolenko. She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years Freddie Luchterhand of Akron; dear mother of Jeff (Martha) Luchterhand of Clarence; proud grandmother of two grandchildren Emily and Gordon; sister of Viola (late Arthur) Piatek of Lancaster, Pauline (James) Wright of Madison Heights, MI, Mary Ann (Arnold) Stegman of Akron, Gloria “Sue” (Robert) Favero of Marietta, GA and the late Eva (John) Kostrzycki; several nieces and nephews also survive.Viewing info: Family will receive friends Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the CHILDS FUNERAL HOME, 10 Eckerson Ave, Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 AM in St. Teresa’s R.C. Church, Akron (please assemble at church).Burial: Burial will be in St. Teresa’s Cemetery.Memorials: Expressions of sympathy in Rose’s memory may be made to, to the VFW Post #3180, 35 Lewis Rd., Akron, NY 14001, American Legion Post #900, 9 Eckerson Ave., Akron or to the St. Teresa’s R.C. Church in the form of masses.
