History:
  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954 as a Special Ranger. Mr. Harrington was a driver for 30 years for Lease Way Motor Company in Lewiston, New York where he delivered GMC automobiles to many area car dealerships.
  Ron had his pilot Certificate and flew single engine planes. He was past President of the Akron Airport and was part owner of the airport. A lifetime member of the VFW Post #3180 and was a member of American Legion Post # 900 both of Akron. He was a member of the Alden Gun and Rod Club. Ron enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing and was a past member of the N. Tonawanda Fire Company and the Wolcottsville Fire Company. A few years ago, he donated his hair to Locks of Love.
Family:
  Ron is survived by his loving wife; Elizabeth (Laese) Harrington whom he married on August 13, 1993. He was the husband of the late Margery Harrington who died in 1989. Dear father of Tracy (William) Whitlocke, Susan (Pat) Collins, Melissa (Brian) Harrington; beloved stepfather of John (Chyenne) Groff, Raymond (Jennifer) Groff Jr., Laurie (Eric) Schmidt and James (Elizabeth) Groff; loving grandfather of Vincent, Jacob, Kristen, Ian Groff and Isaac Schmidt, Jennifer and Christopher Whitlocke, Meredith and Michael Countryman, Matthew and Margery Cassick; also surviving are a brother and a sister.
Viewing info:
  Memorial service will be held on Monday at 11 AM in the CHILDS FUNERAL HOME, 10 Eckerson Ave., Akron. There will be no prior visitation.
