	History:	He was a 1936 graduate of Akron High School and went on to graduate from Cornell University. A Veteran of WWII, Roger served in the United States Army from 1941-1945 in the 85th Mt. Infantry under General Patton. He worked as a Drill Operator and Electrician for the National Gypsum Company in Clarence Center, NY where he also served as the Union representative in many capacities. Mr. Kraatz retired after 36 years of employment. He and his wife Betty attended the Tonawanda Indian Baptist Church in Basom, NY. Roger proudly served on the Akron Central School Board for 16 years.
	Family:	Roger was the son of the late Louis and Gertrude Kraatz and he is survived by his loving wife, the former Betty Waldron, whom he married February 1, 1948; dear father of Louis (Christine) Kraatz of Mt. Carmel, TN, Valerie (David) Edwards of Akron, NY and the late Steven R. Kraatz; father in-law of Vicky Kraatz; proud grandfather of Rebecca (Jeffrey) Korzatkowski, Andrew Kraatz, Stephanie Kraatz, Dalton Edwards, Danelee Rodriguez, Jacob Kraatz and David D. Edwards; great-grandfather of Jakob, Juliana and Khloe; brother of the late Glenn, Richard, Craig and Warren Kraatz; brother in-law of Erma Kraatz; several nieces and nephews also survive.
	Viewing info:	Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 5:00 PM in the Tonawanda Indian Baptist Church, Basom, NY. Rev. Robert Dean Pastor will officiate.
	Burial:	Internment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in West Shelby, NY.
	Memorials:	Expressions of sympathy in Roger's memory may be made to the Tonawanda Indian Baptist Church, 565 Bloomingdale Rd., Basom, NY 14013.
