History:
Mrs. Romeo, known affectionately to both family and friends as "Aunt Martha", born on December 20, 1917 in Ambridge PA to Dominico and Rosa Violi. She met her future husband, Frank P. Romeo, while visiting relatives in Massena, and eventually returned there to marry him on March 31, 1938. The couple lived with their large extended family at the former Romeo house on Romeo Avenue until 1972, when they moved to the Prospect Street residence. They were a devoted couple and until his death, no one spoke of Aunt Martha without mentioning Uncle Frank in the same breath. She lived in Massena almost 70 years. During that time she devoted her life to caring for her numerous relatives, both young and old. She will be remembered for her generosity, joy of life, devotion to her faith, concern for her family, and as a vast repository of family history, which she shared up until the very end. She kept the cleanest house in Massena! She will be greatly missed, by all whose lives she touched.
