Mary K. "Granny" Karl

	History:	She was a graduate of Alleghany High School. Mary was a familiar face in the Akron area and was the former proprietor of the Akron Liquor Store which she and her husband ran for 42 years.   She along with her husband Bernie and son Ron, were the owners of Karl’s Carpet. Mrs. Karl was dedicated to her catholic faith all of her life. She was a long time member of St. Teresa RC Church in Akron where she participated in the "Ministry of Praise" and also was involved in the bingo club at the church. Mrs. Karl was a member of the Newstead Historical Society, Akron Newstead Senior Citizens and a former member of the Cloisters Social Club. To know Mary was to love Mary, she was never one to mince words. This exemplified her great character. She enjoyed being with family and they were her number one priority. Her family stated, "We take with us great memories of granny which will be with us forever, the most important gift she gave to each of us was her love."
	Family:	Mary was the daughter of the late frank and Minnie (Lippert) Abbott. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Bernard Karl who passed away in 1980. She was loving mother of Gary F. (Ann Marie) Karl and the late Ronald B. Karl who passed away in 2008, dear mother in law of Lois Karl. Granny was proud of her 9 grandchildren and 2 step granddaughters, 19 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
	Viewing info:	A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday February 18, 2012 at 11:00 in St. Teresa RC Church Akron. Burial will be in St. Teresa’s Cemetery. No prior visitation.
