	History:	John was a graduate of Akron High School Class of 1951. Following graduation Mr. Gerstung attended Alfred University and went onto to serve in the US Army from 1956-1958. He owned his own Building Business. He went onto work for Clarence Materials in Akron as a Dispatcher retiring after 27 years of service.   John had a great passion for golf and was a member of the Dande Farms Mens Club. His memberships also included American Legion Post 900 in Akron where he was a member.
	Family:	John was the son of the late Norman and Gertrude (Stillinger) Gerstung. Loving husband of 52 years to Sandy (Folger) Gerstung dear father of James Gerstung and Robin Frank both of Akron, NY. Also surviving is a sister in law Betty Gerstung of Akron along with several nieces and nephews. John was pre deceased by his brother Norman Gerstung Jr.
