Resided in: Akron, NYHistory: Joan was a Culinary worker for the former Coachman's Inn in Clarence for several years. Mrs. Schultz then went on to work in the elementary cafeteria at Akron Central School for many years. Her memberships include the First United Methodist Church in Akron and the Newstead Historical Society. For several years she volunteered her time with the local Girl Scouts. An avid sewer, Joan also enjoyed doing ceramics and gardening.Family: She was the daughter of the late Jacque and Catherine Collins and was the dear wife of R. Eugene Schultz; loving mother of Keith Schultz of Hudson Falls, NY and Gail (Scott) Chaffee of Akron, NY; proud grandmother of Paul (Alison), Kevin (Sarah) and Sarah Chaffee; great grandmother of Sean.Viewing info: Family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the CHILDS FUNERAL HOME 10 Eckerson Ave. Akron. Where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM.Burial: Burial will be in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Akron.Memorials: Flowers gratefully declined. Joan had a love for animals, so memorials in her memory to the Erie County SPCA would be greatly appreciated or to Hospice Buffalo, where she received great care and comfort.
