She was co-proprietor of their family business- Time and Pride Lawn Care, working alongside her husband for the last 15 years. Mrs. Thuman was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Akron. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and traveling to Florida where Jean and her husband came to know Christ through their close friends Herman and Pat Clouse. Jean had close relationships and enjoyed spending time with and dearly loved her children, grandchildren, close friends and her extended family.Family: She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Juditha (Rose) Steger. Beloved wife of Norman Thuman Sr. (whom she married July 10, 1971, enjoying 37 years of marital vows); loving mother of Norman (Veronica Lynn) Thuman Jr. of Wilson, NY, Marjorie Lynn (Jim) Rusnell of Akron, NY and the late Kenneth Michael Thuman (died Nov. 20, 1993); proud grandmother of Kenneth, Nicholas, Kelsey and Norman Thuman III and Seth and Alexandria Rusnell; dear sister of Daniel, John, Sue and her late twin sister Judy; aunt to several nieces and nephews.Viewing info: Family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the CHILDS FUNERAL HOME, 10 Eckerson Ave., Akron. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 AM in the Calvary Baptist Church, 12752 Lewis Rd., Akron. Reverend Ronald Houseman will officiate.Burial: Burial will take place privately.Memorials: In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Jean's memory may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church.
