	History:	He was a graduate of Akron High School, class of 1964. Jim worked as a machine builder at Strippit Inc. in Akron for 30 years, retiring in 2001. He attended St. Teresa’s RC Church in Akron. Jim was a NASCAR fan and was a mechanic for local race car drivers. He also greatly enjoyed working on cars in his own garage.
	Family:	Beloved husband of Barbara (Witkowski) Furminger, whom he married July 18, 1970; loving father of Peggy (Josh) Haist of Akron, NY; dear brother of Sharon Furminger of Amherst, NY, John Furminger and Kathleen “Kate” Hake both of Akron, NY; several nieces and nephews also survive.
	Viewing info:	Family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the CHILDS FUNERAL HOME, 10 Eckerson Ave., Akron, where a prayer service will be held at 8 PM by Monsignor Robert J. Williamson.
