History:
  Mr. Smith served in the United States Army during WWII from 1942-1945. Before he retired, Mr. Smith was a Core Maker for the Emmaus Foundry & Machine Company in Emmaus, PA. An avid sportsman in his spare time, James enjoyed hunting, fishing, football and baseball.
Family:
  He was the son of the late James B. Sr. and Florence (Newman) Smith. Survivors include his son Wallace (Cindy) Smith of Akron, NY; dear grandfather of Heather Smith of Rochester, NY. Mr. Smith was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, the former Florence Kelly, who passed away March 10, 2007.
Arrangements:
  Arrangements were completed by the CHILDS FUNERAL HOME of Akron, NY.
Burial:
  Private services with full Military Honors will take place in Bath National Cemetery, Bath, NY at the convenience of the family. There will be no prior visitation.
Memorials:
  Expressions of sympathy in James' memory to Hospice Buffalo, PO Box 590, Buffalo, NY 14240 would be appreciated by the family.
