History:
  Mr Eddy served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and served on the USS Missouri. He worked as a machinist for Strippit Inc., Akron NY until his retirement in 1996. Mr. Eddy was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church of Akron. After moving to Myrtle Beach, he worked as an associate for Jurassic Golf Course. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, horseshoes and fishing.
Family:
  Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years Shirley (Smith) Eddy of whom he married June 5, 1954; four sons Norman (Nancy) of Lancaster, NY, Daniel (Kathy) of Batavia, NY, Michael (Dawn) of PA and Robert (Cheryl) of Akron, NY; one daughter Jean (Terry) Lotz of Akron, NY; eleven grandchildren and four great- grandchildren; and one brother Duane (Denise) Eddy of N. Tonawanda, NY. He was predeceased by a sister Beatrice Wagonblott.
Viewing info:
  Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM in the Childs Funeral Home, 10 Eckerson Ave. Akron, where family will receive friends Monday at 7-9 PM and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9PM.
Burial:
  Burial will be in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in Akron.
Memorials:
  Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Akron Fire Company or to the American Cancer Society.
