	History:	Gladys graduated from Akron High School in the Class of 1929. She was once a member of the First United Methodist Church in Akron. A Homemaker all her life, she enjoyed being outdoors rather than in at her family homestead. Busily caring for her chickens, dogs, cats, bunnies, ducks and the latest cast-off she showed a tenderness of herself that was unknown to many. Gladys taught us to take note of the small wonders that God had scattered all around us.
	Family:	Gladys was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Leight) Cook. Wife of the late Sylvester "Sy" Cummings, who passed in 1978; loving mother of Dale, Darryl "Jim" (Donna) Cummings both of Akron, NY and Darwin (Judy) Cummings of Barker, NY; dear grandmother of 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; she was predeceased by 2 brothers Albert and Allen Cook.
	Viewing info:	The family will receive friends Monday, July 7th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the CHILDS FUNERAL HOME, 10 Eckerson Ave., Akron, where funeral services will also be held Tuesday at 11AM. Reverend Terry White, Pastor of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, South Newstead will officiate.
	Burial:	Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Akron.
