Place of Passing: United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia, following a lengthy illness Resided in: Akron, NYHistory: She was the daughter of the late Albert and Jesse (Youngs) Reed. She was a member of the North Presbyterian Church in Tonawanda and was the choir director of the Crittenden Presbyterian Church in Alden. Mrs. Snyder was an employee at Tops in Buffalo for 15 years, where she took pleasure in working as a demo-worker, having to retire only due to her illness. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and doing plastic needle crafts.Family: Dear mother of four children Sharon (Gary) Harriger of Buffalo, Larry Snyder of N. Tonawanda, Donna (John A.) Whelan of Akron and Edward (Jacqueline) Snyder of Newark; grandmother of nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister of Doris (late Robert) Kriner of Pa.; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Snyder is predeceased by her husband Royal Clifford Snyder in 1992; her two sons Harry Albert "Skeeter" and Terry Doyal Snyder; three brothers Milford, Kenneth and Frederick Reed; and one sister Helen Stilson.Viewing info: Funeral Services were held Saturday, August 18th at 10 AM in the Childs Funeral Home, 10 Eckerson Ave., Akron, where Rev. Jeff Bartz officiated.Burial: Burial was in the McKean Memorial Park in Bradford, Pa. Arrangements were completed by the Childs Funeral Home.Memorials: In lieu of flowers family suggests memorials in Edith's memory be made to Hearts and Hands Faith in Action, 50 John St, Akron.
