Mr. Freas served in the

Resided in: Akron, NYHistory: He graduated from Punxsutawney High School, class of 1949. After that he went on to serve in the United States Army from 1951-1953. He was a Meat Cutter for 25 years at (former) A&P Supermarket and at Bells Supermarket in Cheektowaga for 12 years, where he retired. Mr. Freas was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of South Newstead, the Akron-Newstead Senior Citizens, and enjoyed fishing, camping at Chautauqua Lake and spending time with his children and grandchildren.Family: Dale was the son of the late Jacob and Ruth (Christie) Freas. Dear husband of Nina (Rizzo) of whom he married November 2, 1979 and the late Wanda (Heitzenrater) Freas whom he married November 25, 1950 (died December 24, 1975); loving father of Michael (Adrienne) Freas of Wheatfield, NY, Scott Freas of Tonawanda, NY, Dawn (Paul) Cercone of Amherst, NY and Joseph (Paula) Malucci of Huston, TX; proud grandfather of nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brother of C. Wayne (Katherine) Freas of Sun Valley, NV and the late- Ethel Cochran, Howard and Raymond L. Freas; son in-law of Josephine (late Louis) Rizzo of Cheektowaga, NY; brother in-law of Molly Freas of Hudson, FL; several nieces and nephews also survive.Viewing info: Family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the CHILDS FUNERAL HOME, 10 Eckerson Ave., Akron. A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 1, 2007 in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of South Newstead, 4809 S. Newstead Rd, Akron. Rev. Terry White, Pastor, will officiate.Burial: Inurnment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo.Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Mr. Freas' memory to Hospice Buffalo, 225 Como Park Blvd., PO Box 590, Buffalo, NY 14240 and/or to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of South Newstead, Akron, NY.
