An Akronite all of his life, Mr. Paris J. Childs is a graduate of Akron Central School. He attended Erie Community College and went on to graduate from the Simmons Institute of Funeral Service in 1990. He served as President of the Sigma Phi Sigma Fraternity, and upon graduation received the NYS Funeral Directors Association, Inc. Certificate of Merit, which best typifies the highest ideals of the Funeral Profession. He was also the recipient of the Outstanding Service Award for his outstanding demonstration of care and compassion for the giving of himself to enhance the welfare of others. After serving his one year residency with the Larson-Timko Funeral Home in Fredonia, NY, Paris received his Funeral Directors License in 1991.
In 1997 Mr. Childs fulfilled his childhood dream of starting a funeral home in his home town of Akron, NY, and established Childs Funeral Home. As Paris commemorates his Tenth Anniversary, he continues to offer "Service with Sincerity" and superior personalized funerals to the families he serves.
On the fourth day of December, 2004 Mr. Childs was inducted into the American Society of Embalmers. After being nominated for membership, he had the high honor of being inducted into the British Institute of Embalmers on the twelfth day of May, 2006.
